The Real Cost of a Cheap Pump: A NETZSCH Procurement Story from Brazil

What this cost me, personally
I spent six weeks on this decision. Built the TCO model, defended it to the CFO, explained to the regional director why we weren't going with the cheaper quote. That part was stressful.
The Colombia failure was my anchor in those conversations. Nothing makes a business case like a live disaster. But I'd rather have argued from data alone. Next time, I will.

- Be suspicious of “free” anything. Free setup, free shipping, free training. Someone pays. The only question is whether it appears on the invoice.
Did we save money in the end? Honestly, I can't fully answer that yet. The pumps have only 14 months of operation, and a progressing cavity pump's design life is a decade or more.
